OREANDA-NEWS. With the start of the summer schedule, Lufthansa will offer passengers a second connection in Hungary: from 11 April 2016, Debrecen – like Budapest – will receive three flights per week by Bombardier CR9 jets. “Lufthansa’s hub at Munich is well-known for the number of connections it has to other European cities, and with Debrecen we’re adding another highlight,” says Thomas Winkelmann, CEO of the Munich hub. With five million people living within its catchment area, Hungary’s second-biggest city plays host to a number of noteworthy German and international businesses. The historic Old Town, the proximity of the Hungarian Puszta and noted wine regions make the new destination of equal interest to holidaymakers.  Return fares to Debrecen start at €169.
