OREANDA-NEWS. National Rating Agency has affirmed its national scale 'AAA' and its global scale 'iAA-' credit ratings on the Japan-based The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU). NRA assigned its first-time 'AAA/iAA-' credit ratings to BTMU on Aug. 15, 2013. The ratings were affirmed on Nov. 18, 2014. 

The current affirmation is driven by BTMU's stable position in both the global and Japanese national banking systems.

Funded in Japan in 1919, BTMU one of the world's leading banks. It ranks among the largest international banks. It is the leader of the Japanese banking industry and acts as a key element of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), which operates in 50 countries. The group is particularly visible in the U.S.A. market and in the Asia-Pacific region.
