OREANDA-NEWS. ROSATOM has become the national leader in the number of submitted invention and utility model applications in 2015. According to the Federal Intellectual Property Service (Rospatent) data, last year ROSATOM submitted 203 applications, outrunning greatly other applicants in their number.

“This is an important result that demonstrates, first, the effectiveness of the systemic work to develop research and technologies and creation of innovative products in Russia’s nuclear industry, which is carried out in recent years. Second, ROSATOM’s leadership in this field speaks of the right policy in the intellectual property protection where in the scientific division (JSC Science & Innovations) the Sectoral Center of Intellectual Property Management Competences has been created in 2015,” Vyacheslav Pershukov, Deputy CEO and Director of Innovations Management of ROSATOM, noted.

The number of applications submitted by ROSATOM to Rospatent increased also owing to the project of the ROSATOM Production System (RPS) implementation “Optimization of the expanded process of ensuring legal protection of intellectual property objects in the industry”, which was carried out by Legal and Corporate Affair Department together with Innovations Management and Nuclear Weapons Complex Directorate. It reduced general timeline of the invention and utility model application submission process.

For a comparison, in 2014 there were 287 such applications.
