OREANDA-NEWS. India to be amongst Leading Nations in a Technology Driven Fourth Industrial Revolution that could come about now says Shri Arun Jaitley

The Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs and Information & Broadcasting Shri Arun Jaitley said that India has great strengths to be amongst leading nations in a technology driven forth industrial revolution that is expected to come about now. He was speaking after inaugurating a two day seminar titled-ART (Adjudication, Regulation and Telecommunication) of convergence in New Delhi today. He said Regulatory and Adjudicating mechanisms have to keep pace with rapidly evolving technologies in the fields of Information Technology, telecommunications and Broadcasting. Shri Jaitley said that he would convey it to the telecommunications minister Shri Ravishanker Prasad to consider strengthening of jurisdiction of the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT).

Earlier the Chairman of the TDSAT Hon'ble Mr. Justice Aftab Alam, had said that there is a need for the government to bring clarity on several policy issues and on administrative mechanisms.

Speaking on the occasion Supreme court Judge Hon'ble Mr. Justice J. Chalameshwar said setting up specialized benches in high courts with subject specialists as advisors or commissioners to courts could help in overcoming multiple layers of adjudication. He also said all parties involved in adjudication, regulation policy framers should keep themselves informed of the latest developments in the field.

Attorney General of India, Shri Mukul Rohtagi and member TDSAT Shri. B.B.Srivastava also spoke on the occasion.
