OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Nissan dealers in January 2016 sold 4494 cars - less by 51% than the year before. As a result, the Japanese brand has taken the sixth place in sales among all automakers in Russia; Nissan's market share was 5.5%, according to AEB data.

Nissan’s best- selling model in the Russian market became a crossover Nissan Qashqai – the last month the model was chosen by 1073 buyers, which is less by 43.7% than a year ago. Second place went to the sedan Nissan Almera, whose sales were 854 cars (-62.2%).

Recall that in October of 2015, Nissan started the production of the Qashqai crossover at its plant Nissan in St. Petersburg. And in November the Russian dealers of Nissan launched sales of Qashqai of Russian production, which was adapted for Russia-specific road conditions. Qashqai adaptation package for the Russian market includes changes in the chassis design, increased ground clearance and track, special steering setup and usage of localized tires.

Nissan Qashqai is available in the Russian market in six trim levels at the price from 929 000 rubles to 1 million 523 thousand rubles. For the model it is offered for a choice three power units: petrol 1,2 DIG-T (115 hp) and 2.0 (144 hp) and diesel 1.6 dCi (130 hp). Nissan Qashqai is available with front-wheel and all-wheel drive with manual gearbox and a new Xtronic CVT, which has been designed specifically for the second generation of model.
