OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, reports that the Board of Directors of LLC T2 RTK Holding (Tele2 brand) has elected Sergey Edmin to the post of Tele2 CEO.

In his position, Sergey Edmin will focus on strengthening of the company’s stance as a universal and fully integrated operator aiming to boost aggressive growth in data products.

“We are thankful to Mikhail Noskov for the great work he did. Under his guidance Tele2 achieved spectacular results: the company became an operator of federal importance, integrated Rostelecom’s assets and launched Moscow operations. After resignation, Mikhail will be in charge of business projects outside VTB Group. Tele2 is now facing the task on a further rollout of the network infrastructure and increase in subscriber base. I am sure that Sergey Edmin who supervised a large-scale reconstruction of the Pulkovo airport will bring Tele2 onto a new level of development.”

Sergey Edmin was born in 1971 in Leningrad. He graduated from the St. Petersburg State University and the Kansas State University. In 1998, he finished his studies at the Harvard Business School and in 2008 graduated from the Irkutsk State Technical University. Sergey Edmin holds a PhD in Economics. In 1994−2000 he worked in the Moscow branch of McKinsey & Co. Starting from 2000 he occupied senior management positions at enterprises of Severstal Group. Sergey Edmin joined JSC Irkutskenergo as executive officer and held the post of the company’s CEO in 2005−2008, between June 2009 and March 2010. Between May 2008 and May 2009 he worked as CEO of JSC Evrosibenergo. From April 2010 to February 2016 Sergey Edmin held the post of LLC Air Gates of Northern Capital. Married, has three children.
