OREANDA-NEWS. Сonstruction of power unit No. 12 of Verkhnetagilskaya TPP, a part of Inter RAO Group, is included in the list of generating facilities which are implemented within the capacity delivery agreements system (CDA).

The relevant decree of Government of the Russian Federation dated February 2, 2016 is published on the official portal of the Cabinet of Ministers. As follows from the calculations of Inter RAO Group, this solution will reduce the burden on the consumers of electricity located in the first price zone.

According to the decree of the Government, the CDA project should be actually transferred from the site of Serovskaya TPP (part of JSC OGK-2, Gazprom Energoholding) to the site of Verkhnetagilskaya TPP. The capacity of 420 MW power unit is delivered on November 1, 2017. The main equipment of the combined cycle gas turbine unit has already been delivered to Verkhnetagilskaya TPP and currently it is under installation.

'The government's decision to extend the CDA system to Verkhnetagilskaya TPP project will not only reduce the burden on the consumers because they will pay for the construction of one unit instead of two 420 MW units, but it will considerably improve the economics of our project,' said Chairman of the Management Board of Inter RAO Group Boris Kovalchuk. 'In 2015, as is known, the project of CCGT-420 construction of Verkhnetagilskaya TPP was excluded from the list of facilities implemented in the framework of CDA system and transferred to another project of Inter RAO Group, construction of Zatonskaya TPP in Ufa. However, due to the fact that the construction of power generating unit of Verkhnetagilskaya TPP is in the middle of the cycle, and the construction of power unit of Serovskaya TPP has not started yet, Inter RAO and Gazprom Energoholding have offered the government the solution to get a significant effect to all stakeholders.'
