Airgas, Inc. | Airgas to Exhibit Technologies and Host Informational Course at PITTCON 2016 OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2016. Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG), one of the nation's leading suppliers of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, and related products, today announced that it will exhibit and demonstrate specialty gas products and technologies and host an informational course at the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (PITTCON) at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA from March 6 - 10, 2016.

The course, Gases and Gas Delivery Systems for Analytical Applications (Course #142), will be taught by

Frank Kandl, Director of Business Development - Airgas Specialty Gas Equipment, and

Reginald Bartram, Gas Chromatography Consultant for Airgas, on Wednesday, March 9. Attendees will learn how to properly select all necessary components for an analytical system that uses gases to create consistent results and eliminate the need to rerun a sample, maintain quality baselines, and reduce operating costs.

"Our customers are always striving to optimize their results and find efficiencies where possible," said Kandl. "With this course, attendees will understand how to select the proper gases to ensure consistency and repeatability in applications while reducing operating expenses, as well as how to configure the most effective gas delivery system and component selection."

Airgas will also exhibit and demonstrate unique products and technologies, including the Supelcoat line of components for gas delivery systems, created by the Sigma-Aldrich Co., LLC and available through Airgas. The Supelcoat coating prevents any interaction of reactive trace gas species with "wetted" internal surfaces of fittings, hoses and valves. This coating inhibits the interaction of low concentration corrosive and volatile compounds in the calibration gas mixtures used in critical environmental testing, plus in other applications where all the sample delivery components should be totally inert.

Airgas will also display its line of Cyclone Technology pressure regulators, designed to preserve the specificity of gas mixtures. The regulators have a unique internal design to ensure all surfaces are continually swept, while not allowing any dropout regardless of differences in specific weight of the various compounds within the mixture. These regulators are also available with Airgas' proprietary Supelcoat coating to prevent interaction of corrosive and volatile compounds in high purity gas mixtures used in EPA analysis.

"The Airgas technologies on display at PITTCON, as well as the services we offer, support customers' goals of improving processes, obtaining consistency and quality, and identifying savings opportunities whenever possible," said

Bill Russo, Airgas' Vice President - Specialty Gases.

Experts from Airgas' specialty gases team, including "Dr. Chromatography," will be on hand throughout PITTCON to discuss their Lab Design Assistance Program for help planning a new lab or refurbishing a lab, as well as their newly updated website at www.airgasSGcatalog.com. They will also showcase their Certificate of Analysis QR Code and Airgas SRVS® App, which won a Golden Gas Award last year from Gases & Instrumentation Internationalmagazine.

More information on Airgas' products on display and informational resources, as well as information on all Airgas specialty gas product and service offerings, will be available at the Airgas exhibit (Booth #3149) from March 6 - 10. Registered PITTCON attendees who visit the Airgas exhibit will be entered into daily drawings to win a Fitbit® or a BBQ dinner.
