OREANDA-NEWS. At their meeting on 17 February 2016, the Supervisory Board Members of RWE Generation SE and RWE Power AG appointed Dr Lars Kulik as a full member of the Executive Board of both companies, with effect from 1 August 2016. Dr Kulik will replace Dr Ulrich Hartmann, Executive Board Member of RWE Generation SE and RWE Power AG, responsible for the area of lignite, nuclear energy and hydropower, who will leave the Boards of the companies as planned on the same date to begin his retirement.

Lars Kulik, currently responsible for lignite planning, will become a Board Member responsible for lignite and hydropower from mid-year onwards. In this appointment process the responsibility for nuclear energy will be transferred from Ulrich Hartmann to Roger Miesen, Executive Board Member of RWE Generation SE, who is also responsible for hard coal and gas as well as biomass. Miesen will thus be appointed member of the Executive Board of RWE Power on the same date.

In a difficult market environment, today’s Supervisory Board decision has set the course for continuity and stability in terms of personnel. “We are delighted to have gained Lars Kulik for this position, an expert who has been very familiar with the issues of the Rhenish lignite region for many years and who has been dedicated to supporting our company’s success, even through difficult times. We look forward to working closely and in complete confidence with him in his new function, thus continuing the successful work of Ulrich Hartmann”, says Dr. Rolf Martin Schmitz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of both companies.
