OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has announced a launch of a new data processing centre in Rostov-on-Don. Another data centre will let the company improve fault-tolerance of IT infrastructure and guarantee high-quality services to our subscribers.

A launch of Tele2’s third data processing centre is primarily entailed by the expansion of the operator’s geography: it took the company less than a year to start providing mobile services under its own brand in 23 regions of Russia. Formation of a new data centre will allow the company to solve tasks connected with a rapid growth of processed data following a large-scale launch of 3G/4G networks.

A new data centres has equipment to operate all information systems including billing, VAS and other platforms. The centre occupies a territory exceeding 650 sq. m and uses equipment with a capacity of up to 590 kW.

Continuity of data centre operations are guaranteed by up-to-date uninterruptible power systems and disel-driven gensets situated on its territory. The centre may run autonomously for at least 8 hours when fully loaded, which protects Tele2 subscribers against the network crashes.

The data processing centre has the most technologically advanced equipment including automatic control of computer-based systems, climate control system, distant control, fire-protection system, monitoring and video surveillance.

Russian IT solutions provider Technoserv is in charge of supplying and installing equipment, commissioning and start-up of a new data centre.
