OREANDA-NEWS. April 07, 2016. Ford of Germany has announced record demand for its cars and commercial vehicles in the first quarter of 2016.

"Ford’s success story in Germany continues to grow,” said Wolfgang Kopplin, Director of marketing and sales. “Following on from our return to profitability last year, ever stronger demand for Ford vehicles in Germany has produced our strongest first quarter for more than 10 years.”

In the first three months of 2016, 56,312 new Ford cars were registered in Germany - an increase of around 5,700 vehicles and 11.3 per cent compared with same period last year. Ford’s passenger car market share grew 0.4 percentage points to 7.1 per cent.

According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) overall passenger car registrations rose 4.5 per cent to 791,424 units.

Ford of Germany’s performance was boosted by strong demand for models such as S-MAX, Galaxy, and C-MAX which alone saw registrations sore 40.3 per cent. Ford Kuga registrations rose 16.5 per cent, while demand for Ford EcoSport grew 22.3 per cent.

Strong demand for Ford commercial vehicles saw registrations rise 22.3 per cent to 10,384 units, increasing Ford’s market share by 0.9 percentage points to 12.6 per cent. Overall commercial vehicle demand increased 13.5 per cent in Germany during the first quarter of 2016.
