OREANDA-NEWS. Russian dealers of Toyota in the first quarter of 2016 sold 22254 cars, which is less by 7% than in the same period of last year. As a result, Toyota has taken the fifth place among all brands in the Russian market, and the share of the brand in the reporting period was 7% (+ 0.7%). The share of Toyota in the segments, in which the brand works, rose by 2 percentage points and it reached 16.4%.

As noted in the "Toyota Motor", a major factor, which provided the positive dynamics of market indicators of Toyota, became the competent sales strategy planning. A powerful impetus to the increase of share of Toyota models in the segments of the Russian automotive market in the first quarter of 2016 have given a timely announced special favorable comprehensive proposals.

Best seller of Toyota in January-March of 2016 was the crossover Toyota RAV4, whose sales rose to 8713 units. This model keeps the leadership in the segment of compact crossovers, and the share of RAV4 in the segment in the reporting period reached a record mark for the last 11 years - 21.5%. The growth of share in compare with the same period of 2015 was 9%.

In the second place in terms of sales among Toyota models there is a business sedan Camry, which found 5651 buyers in the first quarter of 2016 (-25%). The share of model in the Russian D / E segment was 32% (-3% compared to the same period of 2015).

The top-three of leaders in the model range of Toyota is closed by the premium full-size SUV Land Cruiser 200 - in the reporting period in Russia it was sold 3354 these cars (+ 61%), which provided the permanent leader in the segment of the full-size SUV with 47% of all sales.
