OREANDA-NEWSMoldovan President Igor Dodon on the air of the Moldavian television channel said that Moscow agreed to give Chisinau a loan for infrastructure projects. According to him, the first tranche of the loan will be $ 200 million.

“Now negotiations are being completed on obtaining a loan from Russia for the construction of roads. The first tranche may reach $ 200 million”, he said. Dodon expressed hope that these funds will go to Moldova in February-March. According to the president, it's planned to repair 340 km of roads in Moldova with this money. The roadwork, as noted by the head of state, should begin in May.

The fact that Moldova expects to receive from Russia half a billion dollars at 1.5% per annum for the repair and construction of roads, Dodon said at the end of last year. It should be as attractive as loans provided by our Western partners”, he said. The discussion of the loan was confirmed by the then Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Kozak.
