OREANDA-NEWSThe Chinese construction company China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) is negotiating with Rosneft to obtain a contract of 45 billion rubles for the construction of the Zvezda shipyard, which the oil company and its partners are building in Bolshoy Kamen Bay near Vladivostok. This was written on Tuesday by the Russian media with reference to sources.

"Russian" daughter "CSCEC" "KitayStroy" wants to get a contract for the construction of the so-called outfitting workshops, which belong to the second stage of the shipyard", the publication says. According to media interlocutors, the amount of this contract may amount to 45 billion rubles. The entire project is estimated at 202 billion rubles, of which 146 billion are shipyard facilities, the rest is housing and infrastructure.

A tender for the construction of workshops has not yet been announced, it follows from the procurement information for the shipyard. CSCEC would like to receive a contract without a tender as the only supplier, sources say. The spokesman of Rosneft didn't answer questions from the Russian media. The portal could not contact the CSCEC press service.

The shipbuilding complex Zvezda (created by the consortium of Rosneft, Rosneftegaz and Gazprombank) after commissioning will become the first Russian shipyard of large-capacity shipbuilding, with a processing capacity of up to 330 thousand tons of steel per year. The shipyard will produce a line of medium- and large-capacity vessels and marine equipment, including tankers, gas carriers, elements of drilling platforms, supply vessels and seismic surveys.

This isn't the first Chinese corporation to be interested in the Zvezda shipyard. In 2017–2019, China Communications Construction Company won three tenders for the construction of facilities of the second stage.
