OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the authorities are working to simplify the import of foreign drugs into Russia and the procedure for their registration. He made the corresponding statement at a meeting with members of the United Russia Duma faction on the eve of the Cabinet's report to the State Duma, TASS reports.

He noted that a number of decisions have already been made on this issue.

“We have changed the rules of public procurement, and now you can buy medicines from a single supplier for two years. We have also clarified the procedure for licensing their production and are now working on a complete simplification of the registration procedure,” the prime minister said.

The Cabinet of Ministers also simplifies the rules for importing foreign medicines into the country, he continued.

“We allow the supply of medicines in foreign packaging,” Mishustin said.

According to him, such a measure will allow manufacturers of new registered drugs that have not previously been used in the Russian Federation to release them to the Russian market faster.

“Deliveries were complicated simply by the fact that they did not have packaging in Russian, although our specialists know the drug they produce and are ready to recommend it for treatment,” the head of the Cabinet continued.

At the same time, as Mishustin said, it will be easier to import into the country those imported drugs, the production of which in Russian packaging was stopped due to the imposition of sanctions.

“Now such companies will be able to resume those deliveries that were before to our market,” he added.
