OREANDA-NEWS. The Shvabe holding (part of Rostec) has developed a Segment Gamma detector capable of detecting explosives and hazardous chemicals in five seconds, the press service of the state corporation said.

A prototype of the invention was presented for the first time at the Integrated Security exhibition, which takes place in the Patriot Park (Kubinka)

The report says: "Segment Gamma" continuously monitors indoor air for explosives, hazardous chemical and biological agents. The response time of the device to a threat does not exceed five seconds. "

According to the executive director of "Rostec" Oleg Yevtushenko, whose words are quoted in the message, the new complex can be used at railway stations, airports and metro, shopping centers, cinemas, concert and exhibition halls. The detection efficiency of explosives, hazardous chemical and biological agents by the Gamma Segment is not less than 99.8%.

Earlier "Shvabe" company presented devices for detecting toxins, bacteria and viruses in the air, including COVID-19 - "Detector-BIO" and "Ether-BIO" at exhibitions. These devices were created in partnership with the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology and ITEB RAS within the framework of the federal program "National System of Chemical and Biological Safety of the Russian Federation".
