OREANDA-NEWS On the Sparrow Hills in Moscow, the installation of the base of a springboard has begun. 

The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, examined the progress of work and said that the old ski jumps had been demolished, now a new one is being built in accordance with international requirements. In addition, the official noted, three ski slopes and a sports school will be erected in the same place. 

The new springboard will appear on the site of the old, opened in 1953. It was impossible to adapt the old facility to the high requirements of the International Ski Federation, so a decision was made to build a new facility. 

After the completion of work on this springboard, all-Russian and international ski jumping competitions will be held. Also, after the reconstruction of two children's ski jumps, it will be possible to train and prepare young athletes.
