OREANDA-NEWSToyota Motor Corporation, Japan's largest automobile corporation, has decided to extend production shutdown at its 14 plants in North America until May 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic. This was announced on Thursday by Kyodo.

It's noted that the restoration of the production lines of these plants, closed since March 23, is scheduled for May 4. According to the agency, earlier, due to a pandemic, Toyota suspended production at its facilities in Europe until April 20. Today, most car manufacturing plants are closed in Europe due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Western economists have repeatedly stated that the coronavirus epidemic as a result can lead to a noticeable reduction in the profits of a number of companies, including automobile ones, and harm the global economy.
