OREANDA-NEWS. The German automaker Volkswagen suspends production in Russia, a company representative told RIA Novosti news agency.

“Due to the lack of components supplied from European plants, Volkswagen Group Rus will temporarily suspend production at the automobile plant in Kaluga and contract assemblage in Nizhny Novgorod for two weeks, from March 30 to April 10, 2020,” a journalists’ interlocutor said.

A representative of the company also noted that at present, Volkswagen is able to provide a stable supply of cars and spare parts to dealers and customers.

It is known that disruptions in the delivery of components arose amid the situation with the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

Earlier it was reported that due to a lack of components, the automaker reduced the production of Skoda Rapid at the car factory in Kaluga.
