OREANDA-NEWSThe production of table grape wines in Russia in January-February 2020 decreased by 22.5% compared with the same period last year and amounted to 2.9 million decaliters. This is stated in a review of the Russian alcohol market, prepared by the Analytical Center under the Government of Russia.

At the same time, shipments of this type of wine during the reporting period decreased by 37.1% and amounted to 2.3 million decalitres, while retail sales grew by 4.5% to 7.5 million decalitres. According to experts, the production of sparkling grape wines in January-February increased by 24.7% and reached 1.7 million decaliters. Shipments of this type of product increased by 10.6%, to 1.5 million decaliters, retail sales - by 4.4%, to 2.4 million decalitres.

The decrease also occurred in the production of strong alcohol. For two months, vodka production decreased by 9.3%, to 9.5 million decaliters, shipments - by 15.2%, to 8.6 million decaliters, retail sales - by 0.8%, to 11 million decaliters.
