OREANDA-NEWS  Experts from the World Health Organization consider that the laboratory origin of the COVID-19 virus is unlikely. This information was provided by the WHO expert on food safety Peter Ben Embarek.

According to the expert, the hypothesis that a leak from the laboratory may be the culprit for the spread of coronavirus is unlikely.

Suggestions that the virus could have leaked out of the laboratory were previously voiced by former US President Donald Trump. Trump said the leak could have been due to the incompetence of Chinese scientists.
During a press conference on Tuesday, February 9, Ben Embarek believe that COVID-19 initially began disseminated to bats, but the disease is unlikely to come to the Chinese city of Wuhan through these animals.

At the moment, experts in Wuhan are studying other animal species in which the coronavirus could evolve and then be transmitted to humans.
