OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2 and Ericsson have launched in Russia a pilot zone 5G. She appeared in the center of Moscow — on Tverskaya street.

According to the Director of one of the mobile operators, the "5G era" in Russia can be considered open. The creators are already moving from testing to commercial operation.

That Russian cities will be a pilot zone for testing 5G networks, it became known in mid-July. Work on the project will involve the intelligence agencies and departments. According to the Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation Maxim Akimov, the working group will include the FSB, the defense Ministry, the Federal security service of the Russian space Agency and the Ministry of communications.

In April of 2019, it was reported that Vice Premier of the Russian Federation Maxim Akimov estimated costs for the establishment of a network of the fifth generation in Russia in 650 billion rubles. It was planned that a large part of these funds will give the "big three" foreign equipment suppliers Cisco, Huawei and Nokia.
