OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2016. At the invitation of the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications of Romania (ANCOM) from Romania, the Director of the National regulatory Agency for Electronic communications and information technology (ANRCETI), Grigore Varani?a, took part on September 26, in the international conference organized by ANCOM, this year entitled “Riding the (RADIO) waves of change”. The event took place in Bucharest and was dedicated to a double anniversary – ANCOM celebrated 25 years of modern spectrum management and 150 years of membership to the International Telecommunication Union.

The conference was attended by officials from the regulatory authorities and ministries of several European countries, electronic communications operators, representatives of international and European organizations and institutions in the field of electronic communications.

The event is structured into three sessions. According to the Agenda, the participants discussed concrete examples on how communications functioned in emergency situations and the concept of dynamic spectrum access (DSA), as a spectrum sharing alternative, as well as shared their vision and experience on the current challenges facing radio spectrum management in Europe.

In June 2011, ANRCETI and ANCOM signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate the cooperation and mutual exchange of information in electronic communications. It provides that the parties undertake joint actions and exchange of experience in order to promote competition and interests of users of electronic communications services in line with best international and European practices.
