This year has become rich in corporate events and fruitful for the company’s development. In 2016 Tele2 has managed to nail down its status of a federal mobile operator, improve the quality of connections, release branded smartphones which became a real breakthrough on the market of the operators’ devices.

In 2016 Tele2 continued improving the quality of its services. Over the year, the company has introduced HD Voice on 3G networks that provides high definition to transmitted sound and creates an effect of real talk. The HD Voice technology is already working on all Tele2 3G networks.

In February, Tele2 has started sales of its first branded smartphone Tele2 Mini that has quickly taken leading positions on the Russian market. In 2H16, the company released new models of branded devices – Tele2 Midi, Tele2 Midi LTE, Tele2 Maxi, Tele2 Maxi LTE. They are also in great demand by the operator’s clients.

Tele2 continued launching 4G networks. The LTE wireless Internet is now available to the residents of Voronezh, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Nizhniy Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, Republic of Karelia and Krasnodar.

In May 2016, Tele2 has launched Russia’s first LTE network in the 450 MHz spectrum under Skylink brand in Tver and Novgorod regions. The LTE 450 network has later appeared in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, in Moscow Region. The key advantage of the LTE-450 network is a high-quality coverage and high-speed data even in remote residential areas, which contributes to elimination of digital divide in the country.

In autumn, Tele2 has celebrated the first anniversary of operations in Moscow and Moscow Region. Over this time, the company has considerably increased the number of base stations and expanded the network coverage. The operator’s services are now available on the territory where 97% of Moscow Region residents live. Besides, Tele2 has been recognized three times as a leader in data speed in the Moscow metropolitan area.

Support of subscribers has always been one of Tele2’s priorities. In October, the company has celebrated the 10-year anniversary of launching a call centre in Rostov-on-Don. Over this period, Tele2 has expanded remote customer services and opened new centres in Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk and Saransk. Tele2 is a leader of telecom industry in the quality of customer service, its efficiency and level of customer satisfaction.
