OREANDA-NEWS. October 05, 2016. More than 160,000 verizon employees want to help you connect with friends and family in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Verizon is offering free wireless and wireline calling from the U.S. to Haiti to connect with family and friends.

  • Home wireline telephone customers will incur no charges to Haiti from their U.S. landlines on October 4 through 7, 2016 (applicable taxes and surcharges will apply).
  • Wireless users will incur no charges for texts or international long distance calls originating from the U.S. to Haiti on October 4 through 7, 2016 (applicable taxes and surcharges will apply).

In addition, Verizon Wireless customers who wish to help with Hurricane Matthew Relief efforts, via mobile phone, can donate by texting 80100 with the word "MATTHEW". Customers will receive a text response asking them to confirm the \\$10 donation. By texting their billing zip code, the user agrees to the terms and conditions. Donations are collected for the benefit of the GlobalGiving—Hurricane Matthew Relief Fund.
