OREANDA-NEWS. Revenues of the Lattelecom Group have increased by EUR 1.7 million or 4% in the first quarter this year, reaching EUR 46.8 million compared to the same period in 2015. EBITDA stayed at a comparable level as during the same period in the previous year – EUR 17.3 million.

Revenues from new business areas are constantly increasing – they have almost doubled compared to the first three months of the previous year. Implementation of an interest-free divided payment, new store openings and the establishment of an online store have tripled retail sales. Revenues from remote meter reading – Telemetry – have increased 2.5 times; revenues from advertising have grown almost 1.5 times. Services provided by data centres have generated 40% more revenues than in the first quarter of 2015.

"For several years Lattelecom has ceased to be a standard telecommunication company – we are adapting to modern technologies and solutions. Financial results prove that our strategy is successful in the development of new business directions that will represent a significant part of the company’s profit in the long run," explained Juris Gulbis, the Chairman of the Board of Lattelecom.

Basic services have also maintained their growth – the number of connections to the interactive TV has grown by 11% and Internet connections – by 2%.
