OREANDA-NEWS. Verizon and Team Penske will debut a new hum-branded livery on the No. 3 Dallara/Chevrolet for Helio Castroneves, who will drive in the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis on May 14. The one-of-a-kind livery will feature hum by Verizon, a cool upgrade that helps cars go from zero to smart in seconds.

“New paint schemes are part of the pageantry of racing, and it’s always exciting because they make the car feel new,” said Castroneves, a three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500. “Hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to drive the No. 3 hum Dallara/Chevrolet to victory lane.”

Developed by Verizon Telematics, hum is an easy, self-installed solution that helps make almost any car smarter, safer and more connected. Equipped with state of the art technology, hum delivers car owners amazing features like speed and boundary alerts, real-time monitoring of vehicle location (including stolen vehicle assistance), vehicle diagnostics, a mechanics hotline, and even pinpoint & emergency roadside assistance, should the need ever arise. Hum is also compatible with more than 150 million passenger cars on the road today manufactured since 1996.

“Innovative technology is critical to our racing teams and our businesses,” said Tim Cindric, president of Team Penske. “Verizon is a great partner of the IndyCar Series and our team and now they’re leveraging their state of the art technology to help connect drivers to their vehicles at the press of the button.”
