OREANDA-NEWS. The Experton Group recently published its first "Digital Workspace Service Provider Benchmark 2016", in which Deutsche Telekom and its two divisions Telekom Deutschland and T-Systems took the top spot in all twelve categories. Experton's summary: "No other provider is so broadly positioned." This applies to digital workspace (DW) consulting, managed DW, mobile enterprise and managed DW security services. The analyst firm reviewed 37 service providers on the German market and rated the attractiveness of their portfolios and their competitive strength in three customer segments. Telekom Deutschland was named the best provider in the categories of SMEs with 100 employees and more and SMEs with 1,000 employees and more. In the category of multinational enterprise customers with 1,000 employees and more ("large accounts"), T-Systems captured the top spot.

The top consultants for the digital workspace come from Deutsche Telekom
To calculate their benchmark, Experton rated the providers using four categories. In the "Consulting Services" category, the appraised factors included the vendors' workspace strategy, their consulting activities for business process optimization and their support in selecting services. According to Experton, Deutsche Telekom offers "an optimized portfolio that is tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses." T-Systems also took first place among the competition for large corporations: "T-Systems has the market under control," says Experton. "It's going to be a while until anyone catches up."

Services from the Telekom Cloud
The "Managed Services" category contains services such as life cycle management, user management and change management. In Experton's words, Telekom Deutschland and T-Systems offer "a broad portfolio of service elements" with the objective of "providing the best possible support for the user experience, regardless of device." According to the analyst firm, service provision from the Telekom Cloud is at the fore in this area. "We can expect more high-end developments to come, not least due to the opportunity to develop customer-specific solutions," concludes the analyst firm.

"Managed Mobile Enterprise Services" encompasses offerings that focus on mobile work. Here, as well, Deutsche Telekom took the top spots in its customer segments with an "overreaching digital workspace services portfolio, which includes mobile enterprise and thus serves users extensively," according to Experton.

The security market leader in Europe
In Experton's opinion, Deutsche Telekom's security business is also developing well. "Security is of particular importance at Telekom Deutschland and T-Systems and represents a very strategically important business area," says the benchmark report. With a Security Operation Center in Germany and offerings for encryption, antivirus, mobile device management and server security, "all relevant technology areas are addressed." Deutsche Telekom just recently founded its new security division and intends to become the European market leader for security services.
