OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has summed up technical development results in Moscow Region over 1H16. Over the reported period, the company has actively rolled out the network in Moscow Region – the number of base stations in the region has increased by 32%.

In 1H16 the Tele2 technical department has carried out large-scale works on the network rollout in Moscow Region, which accounted for 70% of overall number of new base stations. In the run-up to summer cottage season the operator has improved the quality of connections in 38 city boroughs and 27 districts of Moscow Region. Most base stations have been launched in Odintsovskiy. Ramenskiy, Istrinskiy, Solnechnogorskiy, Dmitrovskiy, Krasnogroskiy, Ruzskiy, Mozhayskiy, Lyuberetskiy, Shaturskiy, Stupinskiy, Volokolamskiy, Shchelkovskiy and Noginskiy districts of Moscow Region.

Besides, Tele2 provided a stable coverage in shopping and business centres: in 1H16 the operator has improved the quality of connections in over 50 facilities. They are shopping centres Mega Belaya Dacha, Columbus, Mozaika, Otrada and business centres iCUBE, Dmitrovka, Victory Plaza, Aeroport, the Olimpiyskiy sports centre, the Radisson Slavyanskaya hotel, the Gostinyy Dvor trade and exhibition centre. A stable signal has also appeared in Moscow Region shopping centres: Aviator in Zhukovskiy, Korston in Serpukhov, Serpantin in Naro-Fominsk, Stolitsa in Zelenograd, Perlovskiy, Iyun, Promenad in Mytishchi.

The operator has improved connections at stations of the Moscow underground: Novokosino, Alma-Atinskaya, Lesoparkovaya, Bitsevskiy Park, Rumyantsevo and Salaryevo. High-quality voice and mobile Internet in 3G/4G standard are now available at 15 ground and 16 underground stations of the Moscow underground.

The key event of 1H16 was a launch of the LTE-450 network under Skylink brand. The key advantage of the LTE-450 network is a high-quality coverage and high-speed data even in remote residential areas and villages with no stable GSM coverage and high-bandwidth Internet.

LTE-450 is now covering over 90% of Moscow Region’s territory. 3G/4G networks are now covering the territory where over 90% of the region’s residents live.

As summer comes, loads on the network in the country traditionally increase. With the launch of LTE-450 technology country summer visitors may now use high-speed Internet – even in remote areas of the region. We will continue improving the quality of services and increasing the network coverage in order to provide affordable voice and high-speed data to as many residents and guests in Moscow Region as possible.”

Tele2 continues developing mobile services in Moscow Region: in 1Q16 the operator has improved the quality of connections in residential areas and the centre of the city. Thus, a stable signal appeared in popular pedestrian and tourist zones of the city, for example, in Arbat, Pokrovka, Patriarshiye and Chistyye Prudy, the Boulevard Ring, the Muzeon Park and the Gorkiy Central Recreation and Leisure Park. The operator’s technical service has increased the network capacity at Moscow thoroughfares: Sevastopolskiy, Leninskiy, Michurinskiy, Leningradskiy Prospekt, Tverskaya, Taganskaya and Avtozavodskaya Ulitsa, Prospekt Mira, Kiyevskoye, Kashirskoye, Shchelkovskoye, Borovskoye, Rublevo-Uspenskoye Shosse, Savvinskaya and Presnenskaya Naberezhnaya, Vernadskogo Prospekt, Ulitsa Krymskiy Val, Novyy Arbat, Ulitsa Narodnogo Opolcheniya, Sushchevskiy Val, Profsoyuznaya Ulitsa and the Moscow Ring Road.

In 1Q16 the operator has continued providing high-quality mobile connections in shopping and sports

Over three past months the operator has launched 3G/4G networks at five stations of the Moscow underground: Alma-Atinskaya, Lesoparkovaya, Bitsevskiy Park, Rumyantsevo and Salaryevo. High-quality voice and mobile Internet are now available at 15 ground and 16 underground stations of the Moscow underground.

As a result of large-scale works carried out over a year and a half, the high-quality services became available on the territory where 99% of Moscow residents live. 

One of the company’s priority directions is development of the network in Moscow satellites. Over the reported period, Tele2 was the first to have provided multifunctional migration centre with connections, to have increased the network capacity in the Skolkovo innovation centre, shopping and business centres. High-quality services appeared in over 40 residential areas of Voskresenskoye, Vnukovskoye, Voronovskoye, Filimonskovskoye, Sosenskoye, Krasnopakhorskoye, Moskovskoye, Shchapovskoye settlements, city district of Troitsk and Mosrentgen settlement.

Over the reported period, new base stations have been built in over 150 residential areas on the territory of 53 districts of Moscow Region. Over three months, the company has commissioned 75% of Tele2 base stations in the region. The company is now providing high-quality coverage on the territory where over 90% of the Moscow Region residents live.
