OREANDA-NEWSThe Chinese authorities strongly protest the intention of the American side to revoke the license from the branch of the leading Chinese telecommunications corporation China Telecom in the United States, since such a discriminatory measure is contrary to generally accepted market standards. This was announced on Friday by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Zhao Lijian.

"We have already paid attention to the relevant information and express our strong protest”, he said at a regular briefing. According to the diplomat, the Chinese government always requires that national enterprises engaged in commercial activities abroad comply with the laws of other countries. At the same time, the Chinese authorities intend to protect the rights of their business from unfair harassment.

Earlier, a number of US departments proposed the US Federal Communications Commission to revoke the license from a subsidiary of China Telecom, China, depriving it of the ability to provide services in the United States market. The company is suspected of activities that "pose a threat to US national security".
