OREANDA-NEWS. In Russia, a domestic analogue of TikTok has been officially launched - the Yappy vertical video service from the Gazprom-Media holding, according to a message on the service's website.

On November 29, the Yappy app became available on iOS and Android platforms. The application is developed by Ritm Media, which is part of the GPM.

"The IT novelty will meet the latest trends in the social networks market and will be released in the UGC video stock format with support for short vertical videos," the message says. It notes that the service will allow not only watching videos, but also creating content yourself.

The developers promise a wide range of tools for creating and editing viral videos with the ability to easily collaborate in a dedicated media room, which significantly reduces the time for content production, as well as other opportunities.

The launch of the application was announced at the GPM at the end of September. The Yappy platform is a mobile app for creating, sharing and viewing short vertical videos up to 60 seconds long with a target audience of 14 to 34 years old. The GPM promised to update the application with new functions based on user feedback.

In 2020, GPM acquired from Yamolodets LLC a mobile application developed, as Kommersant wrote, with the support of the Innopraktika Foundation.
