OREANDA-NEWS. Elon Musk is considering cutting jobs at Twitter to improve the company's financial performance. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.

The billionaire discussed the idea of cutting costs in general and jobs in particular in a conversation with bankers on the eve of the Twitter purchase. At the same time, according to Bloomberg, from Musk's speech it did not look like layoffs for him are a measure of the second or third order. Allegedly, during the conversation, the billionaire focused the attention of the listeners on this thought.

However, the source of the publication noted that although the idea of cutting jobs on Twitter was expressed quite clearly, Musk did not speculate about which departments of the company could be affected by potential layoffs. This, Bloomberg noted, could be due to the fact that at the time of the conversation, Musk was not yet the CEO of the company and, therefore, was not immersed in its affairs.

For the same reason, journalists do not rule out that Musk has already abandoned his plan to cut jobs on Twitter.

From the content of the same conversation, Bloomberg found out that as another measure to improve the financial efficiency of the social network, Musk is considering different ways to monetize content in it. One of them may be the expansion of the functionality of a paid subscription.
