OREANDA-NEWS The law on the ability to search for missing children using geolocation of their gadgets was approved by the Federation Council during the meeting, reports the Agency "Moscow".

As noted in the document, when you receive a message about a missing minor child, as well as with the written consent of one of the parents or the person replacing him, you can use the geolocation data from the electronic device that the child used.

However, in order to obtain relevant data, a decision of the head of the body that is directly involved in the investigation of the case will be required. This decision must be made within a day from the moment the message about the missing is received. In addition, if the SIM card was registered to another person, you must obtain his written consent.

Using the new rules, the investigation will be able to receive information about the child’s calls and connections to other devices, as well as location data. Within 24 hours, the SC must notify the court of the receipt of the data, within two days - receive the relevant court decision.
