OREANDA-NEWS. Instagram has confirmed the development of a feature that will make the service more like TikTok. This is a new "Vertical Stories" ribbon that can be scrolled by swiping up and down. This will give priority to videos, not images.

The first mention of "vertical stories" in the Instagram application code was discovered by the developer Alessandro Paluzzi. The press service of the company called the new format an "early prototype", testing of which has not yet begun.

Last summer, Instagram launched Reels, a service similar to music stories on TikTok. With it, users can create and share short, 15-second video clips.

Like the Chinese app, Reels users can add music to the video by selecting tracks from an extensive catalog, or borrow an audio track from someone else's recordings, creating remixes and memes. In addition, the ability to change the video playback speed and add augmented reality effects has been implemented - by analogy with TikTok.

In addition, Instagram has a new feature that allows you to recover recently deleted posts. Photos, videos, IGTV broadcasts and Reels can now be returned if they were deleted within 30 days. The exception is "stories": they will remain in the "basket" for 24 hours, after which they will be deleted forever. This is stated in the official blog of the service.
