OREANDA-NEWS. The talks held in Geneva between Russia and the United States showed that the American authorities, pursuing a policy of their own exclusivity, are not interested in the safety of their allies. Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the countries of Europe should express their indignation, because "if something happened, it would blaze here, not overseas." For example, the speaker noted that at present Washington does not think about the UN - decisions on bombing independent countries and invading other states are made bypassing the organization.

The parliamentarian expressed the opinion that the United States has become an "elephant in a china shop", which is destroying the international security system. He recalled that this system was built for a long time and thoroughly in order to prevent a repetition of the Second World War.

At the same time, Volodin added that relieving tension in the world now depends on the actions of American politicians, they will be forced to either accept Russia's proposals or take responsibility for the possible consequences of the lack of guarantees.

Earlier, New York Times columnists considered Moscow the winner after negotiations with the United States.

Consultations on Moscow's proposals on state security guarantees ended in Geneva on January 10. The Russian delegation was represented by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov, the American - by the First Deputy Secretary of State of the United States Wendy Sherman.
