OREANDA-NEWS. On October 30, Reuters news agency reported about a new cyber attack attempt against the US Democratic Party, allegedly conducted by Russian hackers before the presidential election.

According to Reuters, citing anonymous sources, a group of Russian hackers Fancy Bear, which was previously accused of interfering in the US presidential election of 2016, allegedly tried to hack the email accounts of the Democratic Party offices in the states of California and Indiana before the vote scheduled for November 3, 2020.

The publication says that hackers also allegedly carried out attacks on influential think tanks in Washington and New York. In particular, the targets of the hacker attacks were the Center for American Progress, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. All of these organizations informed that there is no evidence of successful hacking of their resources.
