President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the governments of Belarus and the Russian Federation have been instructed to work out a joint response to the occidental sanctions.

According to the “SB.Belarus Today” newspaper, during the talks in Sochi, Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin devoted a significant amount of time to the question of responding to the sanctions. “It was decided to instruct the governments to work out how we would react,” the state publication reports, citing Lukashenko’s words. “I ask, Roman Aleksandrovich, not to delay the resolution of this issue. This should all be reasonable,” Lukashenko noted.

As “SB Belarus Today” notes, continuing the topic, Lukashenko said that he had discussed with his Russian counterpart Putin's upcoming meeting with the US’ President Joe Biden in Sochi, paid sufficient attention to the situation in Ukraine, and returned to the problem of the coronavirus pandemic.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk and Moscow are determined to jointly resist attacks from outside "certain forces". As the newspaper "SB.Belarus Today" notes, Lukashenko shared that he had a good impression of the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.

“Some movement has finally begun about the issues of gas and oil, and a good movement. I think that if we work together, work actively, and many other issues will be resolved, which need to be resolved,” Lukashenko quoted the publication as saying.

As “SB.Belarus Today” adds, Lukashenko paid attention to the fact that Putin understands that certain forces are beginning to unite around and are trying to put pressure on Belarus and Russia. “We assess this situation in absolutely the same way and are fully determined to resist all these attacks together,” the Belarusian leader said.
