The black list of sites was published on the portal of the National Council for Electronic Media of Latvia (NSESMI) ".

As Sputnik Latvia added, "for the first time, the regulator launches its tentacles into a zone that was considered free until now."

On 9 February, the Latvian National Council for Electronic Media adopted a decision to ban the retransmission of 16 Russian-language TV channels in the country, including REN TV Baltic and NTV Mir Baltic.
