OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the United States is destroying the system of international relations based on international law and the central role of the UN, for the sake of sole dominance. She wrote about this in her Telegram channel.

Thus, the diplomat commented on the statement by the US President's Assistant for National Security Jake Sullivan that the system of international relations is changing, their current structure headed by the UN, formed after World War II, is gradually becoming a thing of the past. At the same time, she added that the United States is seeking to transform the established world order through the emergence of new alliances designed to work in the interests of Washington.

“It is for this (single-person domination - approx.) That the United States is organizing an extra scene in the form of a“ summit of democracies, ”whose participants will be endowed with the honorary right to serve the interests of the American regime,” Zakharova emphasized.

According to her, Sullivan's statement can be assessed in different ways, from "cynical" to "cold-blooded." At the same time, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation noted that the statement was honest, and for the first time in many years things were named in their own words.

The United States will host the Summit for Democracy, which will bring together leaders of nations, human rights activists, and business people, from December 9-10 via videoconference. They invited 110 countries and territories.

Russia, Hungary, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Sudan and Ethiopia, as well as a number of other countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia were not included in the list of invitees.

Earlier it was reported that the United States would impose new sanctions as part of the Summit for Democracy.
