OREANDA-NEWS. In Russia, a bill is being developed that will oblige online cinemas to require a pin code from users when playing content marked 18+. This is with reference to the Ministry of Digital and Roskomnadzor reports the publication "Vedomosti".

According to the publication, the departments, together with industry representatives, are exploring the possibility of technically restricting the access of minors to adult content in online cinemas. One of these restrictions may be a pin code, which will be required when launching content marked 18+.

It is expected that when authorizing in an online cinema, the user will have to confirm his age through the State Services, by phone number or on some third-party platform. After that, the user will receive a pin code to access the content without restrictions. It is assumed that only the parent or any other adult family member will know the set of required numbers. Allegedly, in this way, an adult will be able to control a child's access to unauthorized content.

Representatives of the industry, in a conversation with Vedomosti, considered this measure to be excessive.
