OREANDA-NEWS. The number of DDoS attacks used to disable elements of the public administration system in Russia is increasing by a quarter annually. This was announced at a press conference by the deputy director of the National Coordination Center for Computer Incidents (NCCCC) Nikolai Murashov.

"Every year, the number of DDoS attacks with amplification increases by a quarter, and the objects used for this - by a third", the center’s deputy head said. He noted that the use of Internet resources to enhance the power of these attacks, the so-called amplification method, has become a new trend.

In this regard, each owner of an Internet of Things device is required to protect it. Murashov urged all users who notice the abnormal behavior of their equipment to seek help from the NCCTC, whose website provides a service for receiving infected emails (malware@cert.gov.ru). He also urged to send samples of detected malicious software, which will help to develop timely countermeasures and protect many Russian users.
