OREANDA-NEWS. Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications Anton Gorelkin supported the ban on advertising of fast food in Telegram and other media, and also did not rule out the possibility that Burger King's lawsuit is an attempt to leave on a hot news feed. Earlier, the Russian Burger King filed a complaint with the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation against the Telegram messenger due to the ban on advertising fast food.

The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) in Moscow received and began to consider a complaint from the Burger King fast food restaurant chain against the Telegram messenger due to the ban on fast food advertising, the press service of the Moscow OFAS told RIA Novosti.

It is recalled that Burger King Russia on Friday announced that it had filed a complaint with the FAS against Telegram due to the ban on advertising fast food in the messenger. The company said it accuses the platform and its founder Pavel Durov "of ignoring the rights and real interests of consumers" and insists on lifting the ban.

"Pavel Durov is an adherent of a healthy lifestyle, therefore, Telegram has the same taboo on fast food advertising as tobacco, alcohol and drugs ... I do not exclude that this lawsuit is an attempt to go on a hot news event: Burger King in Russia is famous for not so much PR As for the ban, I support it - as I support initiatives to limit such advertising in other media, "Gorelkin wrote in his Telegram channel.

The Telegram messenger on October 26 announced the launch of an advertising platform, messages will be posted on channels that have more than 1,000 subscribers. At the same time, the platform has a number of restrictions: in particular, according to its rules, it is forbidden to advertise alcohol and tobacco products, as well as fast food in the messenger.
