OREANDA-NEWS. Social network Twitter after hacking the accounts of famous people and large companies has strengthened security measures.

The company has reduced access to internal tools and suspended some functions. “Since the attack, we’ve significantly limited access to our internal tools and systems to ensure ongoing account security while we complete our investigation,” the message on Twitter blog says. Some functions (for example, the ability to download account data) are limited due to increased security measures.

The attack on the social network took place in mid-July. 130 accounts were hacked. In 45 cases, hackers got access to posting publications, in 36 to personal correspondence, and in 7 to downloading personal data of users. The accounts of the head of Tesla Elon Musk, the founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, the head of Amazon Jeff Bezos and other famous people were hacked. Pages of some large companies, including Apple and Uber, were also attacked. Hackers entered the system using employee accounts.
