OREANDA-NEWS  Messenger WhatsApp will stop working on iPhone smartphones running iOS 9 and below. This information is reported by the thematic portal WABetaInfo.

In the latest beta version of the application 2.21.50.11 for iOS, support for the iOS 9 operating system has disappeared. As GizChina agency explained, the iPhone 4 and 4S models can run on iOS 9, which was released in 2015.

There is no confirmation of this information on the official website of WhatsApp yet. The official list of iPhone operating systems supported by the messenger includes iOS 9 or newer.

The last reduction in WhatsApp support for mobile devices was in February 2020. Since then, WhatsApp has only worked on smartphones with Android 4.0.3 or later, or iOS 9, KaiOS 2.5.1 or later. Users of older operating systems cannot register in the messenger and use it.

On March 4, the desktop version of WhatsApp has a new feature that allows you to make voice and video calls. The latest update is available for Windows and Mac owners. Previously, only users of the mobile version of the messenger could use this function.
