OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 March and 1 April, in regions of IDGC of Centre’s service area (operating in the Central Federal District), as in other regions of the Russian Federation, the regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of "Rosseti" Group of Companies was held. Its organizers were branches of IDGC of Centre with the support of specialized departments and committees of the regional executive power and regional universities.

Leading educational institutions of the regions became the venues for the Olympiad. So, in the Belgorod region, the power engineers conducted the first stage on the site of the Belgorod Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov, in the Kursk region - on the site of the Southwest State University. In the Tambov region, assistance in the organization of the event was provided by the Multi-Specialty Cadet Corps named after the Hero of the Soviet Union, USSR pilot-cosmonaut L.S. Demin.

For two days, hundreds of pupils of grades 9-10 from different schools of the regions of Central Russia solved tasks in physics, mathematics and computer science. Now their work will be evaluated by regional juries, which included representatives of the regional specialized committees and departments of education, universities and colleges of the region, employees of IDGC of Centre’s branches. Winners and prize-winners of regional qualifying rounds will become participants of the final, federal stage of the Olympiad, which will be held on 21 April. They will be asked to solve applied problems in the electric power industry.

The ceremony of awarding winners of the Olympiad will be held in May 2018 in Moscow. Pupils who show the best results will be included in the personnel reserve of subsidiaries of Rosseti.

The All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren "Rosseti" is held with the purpose of revealing high-school pupils who are capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking and who plan their professional activities in the electric power industry. In the future, the event is planned to be held annually.
