OREANDA-NEWS. ITOCHU Corporation announced today that it was certifiedauthorized as a Platinum Kurumin company by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare on September 30, 2016.

Kurumin is an certificationauthorization specified in the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children. It is awarded to a company that has and develops an action plan to support employees’ childcare and satisfies certain requirementsstandards. Platinum Kurumin is a new accreditationauthorization system launched on April 1, 2015 aimed at recognizing the higher level of commitment of Kurumin-accreditedauthorized companies and at promoting continuous efforts among these companies.

ITOCHU makes ongoing efforts to promote the improvement of the environment where all employees can focus on building their careers and achieve their best performance by establishing a system to increase the number of employees working actively while raising children at a standard higher than that required by the laws, running childcare facilities in workplaces, introducing morning-focused working system shifts and promoting a campaign to encourage male employees to take childcare leave. ITOCHU was authorizedcertified as a Platinum Kurumin company in recognition of these efforts.

Moreover, ITOCHU was certified as an Eruboshi company by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare on June 29, 2016. Eruboshi company certification, a recognition system established in conjunction with the enforcement of the Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace on April 1, 2016, is awarded to a company in recognition of its efforts to promote the active involvement of female employees.
