OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2016. API Executive Director for Market Development Marty Durbin highlighted the benefits our European allies would realize from increased U.S. LNG exports as Vice President Biden today underscored Europe’s need for “diverse sources of natural gas.”

“Our nation is leading the world in the production of oil and natural gas, even as we lead the world in the reduction of carbon emissions, which are near 20-year lows,” said Durbin. “America’s growth in natural gas production means that through LNG exports we can give our allies stability and security in the global natural gas market. America’s shale revolution is growing our economy, spurring environmental improvements and strengthening our own energy security. U.S. LNG will give our allies an opportunity to achieve those some goals.”

API is the only national trade association representing all facets of the oil and natural gas industry, which supports 9.8 million U.S. jobs and 8 percent of the U.S. economy. API’s more than 650 members include large integrated companies, as well as exploration and production, refining, marketing, pipeline, and marine businesses, and service and supply firms. They provide most of the nation’s energy and are backed by a growing grassroots movement of more than 30 million Americans.
