OREANDA-NEWS. Neste US, Inc. and Western States Oil are supporting Northern California communities through a contribution of more than 750 gallons of renewable diesel fuel to help with the North Bay wildfire relief efforts.

Neste, the world's leading producer and advocate of renewable fuel expedited a shipment of renewable diesel fuel in mid-October, and has pledged to aid neighboring Napa and Sonoma Counties with their clean-up efforts.

"These fires have touched us all and with this donation we wanted to help residents and first responders most-affected by the fires," said Jeremy Baines, vice president of sales, Neste North America.

"Our neighbors are in a critical time of need and we're working hard to make the fuel accessible across five counties in the fire-ravaged areas," said Steve Lopes, president and CEO, Western States Oil Co.

"Our community is facing unimaginable distress, and we have immense gratitude to everyone who has rallied behind us," said Dianne E. Luna, manager central services, County of Solano. "The generosity coming from individuals, and local and national businesses, has been heartening and overwhelming."

More than 14 wildfires raged across California's wine country beginning on October 8, 2017.
