RIL: Jamnagar cracker on track for December completion

OREANDA-NEWS. September 02, 2016. Reliance Industries' new 1.5mn t/yr Jamnagar ethane cracker in India will be mechanically complete by December, Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani said today.

Once complete, the facility will be fed by US ethane shipped from Enterprise's newly commissioned export terminal at Morgan's Point, Texas. Ethane carriers will be delivered to Reliance during the next six months,Ambani said in a statement.

"The ships are expected to be delivered over the next two quarters and the full project will be ready by the end of this financial year," he said.

Separately, Reliance's new paraxylene plant at the Jamnagar industrial complex is also complete and is now in stages of pre-commissioning, with production slated to begin in a few weeks. Reliance is also "close to commissioning" a new styrene butadiene rubber plant, he added.
