OREANDA-NEWS. Russian state-controlled Rosneft said today the company's servers have been under «massive attack», but that production is not affected.

«The massive attack has been carried out on the company's servers, including the one of subsidiary Bashneft and the company has appealed to the law enforcement agencies on the fact of cyber attacks,» Rosneft said.

The firm said the attack could have led to «serious consequences» but, as it switched to the backup control system, «neither production nor crude preparation was interrupted.»

Rosneft's liquids production increased by 12pc on the year in the first quarter, to 4.55mn boe/d (56.12mn t), on the back of the acquisition of 400,000 b/d producer Bashneft and the start of new projects, the firm said.
